Crave: the UK gadget and technology blog at CNET.co.uk, preview Football Manager Live
15th , 2008
Oh my giddy aunt. Here's a concept for you: an online football management game where you pit your wit and cunning against 1,000 other wannabe Mourinhos and Fergies, competing for trophies, accolades and the best players. "Who could possibly pull it off?" you may ask. Sports Interactive, makers of the mind-bendingly addictive Football Manager, that's who. It's called Football Manager Live....

IGN: previews Football Manager Live
16th , 2008
Now fans can play their favorite football game in a live online game environment. Users set up competitions, get updates via email and text, and each victory is rewarded with World Ranking points, which are generated by an algorithm that is intended to treat each player fairly, not just reward those who spend the most time online...

Nidzumi: check out the game at Play.com Live
17th , 2008
One of the surprises at the show was the playable demo of the new massively multi player online version of the insanely addictive Football Manager, simply named Football Manager Live. The first question I had and I’m sure you have is how will the game actually work online? You don’t get take control of real teams as you decide your team name, team colours and every other little detail that you would normally see in a Football Manager title. At the start of a new game players will be given £500,000 to spend although all players start off at a free rating and will be decided in a draft like way...

Guardian Unlimited: video games journalist Keith Stuart finds out what Football Manager Live is all about
17th , 2008
While at Play Live this weekend I managed to grab a few moments with Sports Interactive MD Miles Jacobson, a man so enthusiastic about his work, he makes Chris Kamara look guarded and despondent. Miles was telling me about Football Manager Live the forthcoming massively multiplayer version of the footie management series. The game is currently in beta with seven game worlds running and six thousand players taking part. It'll be launching later this year....

Eurogamer: first impressions of the game
17th , 2008
Live is, of course, Evil spelled backwards. It starts to make more sense. Sadly, the best anagram of Football Manager I could come up with was 'Fab Goal! Loan term?' which is yet more evidence of the game's hidden intent. Just ask Paul Collyer. Miles Jacobson's dodgy Watford connections become even clearer once you re-arrange the letters to spell 'Fab goal. Ram Elton'. I'll stop now before it gets messy, or worse, sued....

CVG: PC Gamer descrbes the games as the best bits of Football Manager with a fistful of realism and a gutload of passion
17th , 2008
The idea is as simple as it is brilliant. The pick 'n' mix playfulness of fantasy football crossed with the devilish detail of the Football Manager series. It's got such potential and obvious appeal that it almost reeks of some cynical marketing meeting: "Guys, I just want to say this: 'FML, the MMO that's a new USP for our key IP!"...

Warcry: Interview with SI studio director Miles Jacobson
17th , 2008
Sports Interactive has for years been at the forefront of text-based sports simulations. They invented Championship Manager, one of the world's most popular games, and then continued to define the genre with Football Manager under new publisher SEGA. Beyond soccer (football), they've also redefined hockey management with Eastside Hockey Manager and take in the top team in baseball...
