For your reference, these are the latest FML rules and regulations that all new users receive and are expected to adhere to.
GENERAL CONDUCT
- You must not upload any images or use any language anywhere in the game, game forums, website or peripheral services that could be perceived as offensive, obscene, racist or otherwise inappropriate. This includes, but is not limited to, racist comments, harassment or discrimination, and you should also avoid manipulating any area of the game in order to promote such views.
- If you are subjected to any such abuse, or witness another user either issuing, or receiving such abuse, please contact one of the in-game moderators.
- Please respect the roles of officially appointed persons both inside and outside the game. The decision of Sports Interactive/Sega is final. If you have a legitimate disagreement with any of the in-game moderators please contact Customer Support.
- You must not attempt to impersonate either Sports Interactive or Sega staff at any time or for any reason.
- You must not use reporting someone to the FML support team as means of a threat, nor should you falsify information when reporting someone to the game moderators.
GAMEPLAY CONDUCT
- Should you find a cheat or exploit in the game, rather than using it for your competitive advantage, you should report it immediately to one of the in-game moderators. Anyone found to be persistently using an exploit following a warning will be subject to a suspension or ban.
- You must not use third party software to help you gain an advantage in-game. This includes, but is not exclusive to; macros, automation tools, bots, or auto-typers.
- Each user account should only be used by the person that opened the account. You must not give, sell or lend your account, or any details relating to your account, to anyone else. In addition, you must not accept an account or account details from anyone else.
- Feel free to run accounts in more than one game world, but you must not use multiple accounts within the same game world. Users running multiple accounts within the same game world are liable to have all of their accounts in that world deactivated.
- Do not encourage other users to break any of the FML rules.
LEGAL CONDUCT
- FML has its own economy and in-game method for trading players and competition rewards. You must not offer to sell players for real life money or any other real life benefits. This also includes auctioning players on real life auction websites.
- Similarly, you must not use FML as a means of selling, trading or lending any real world goods.
- FML is an online football management game, with official in-game advertising
- you must not use any part of the game or forums to advertise/promote your, or anybody else's products, companies or websites. This includes website URLs.
- To protect everyone within each gaming world, you must not give out or request personal contact details from other users, nor should you post the personal details of any other user anywhere in the game or game forums. This includes home/work/school addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers and instant messenger user names.
MATCHPLAY CONDUCT
- Do make an effort to play scheduled matches before they reach their resolution date. Human to human matches are strongly encouraged in FML.
- Reject (with a reason) rather than ignore match challenges from other users that you do not wish to accept.
- Use the match chat to let your opponent know if, having accepted a match challenge, you are not ready to kick it off for a few minutes.
- Do not 'throw' matches to give an advantage to other users. Other than unranked friendly matches, games should be played between users competing to win.
- Try not to abandon games purely because you are losing. This is a sign of poor sportsmanship and is not recommended.
- Users are expected to retain a high level of sportsmanship at all times.
TRANSFER CONDUCT
- Do not sell off your players for values far below or buy players from other teams for values far above their acquisition fee in the knowledge that you will either be restarting your team or leaving the game. Buying and selling teams are both liable to be punished.
- Avoid selling players to your friends or contacts for fees far below their realistic transfer value.
- Do not give your friends or contacts an unfair advantage by using inflated transfer signings as a way to boost their accounts.
- Do not make derisory bids obviously below the market value of players owned by other users.
- Try not to spam the mailing lists (votes, transfers, competitions etc.). You should aim to limit mails sent on each list to one or two a day.
- Do not private chat or send personal messages to managers you have not been previously negotiating a transfer with in order to try to sell them players.
- You must not collude outside the game world to artificially raise or lower prices for players.
CHAT CONDUCT
- Respect the function of each chat room. General discussion should take place in the 'Lobby', players available for sale publicised in the 'Marketplace', and assistance on game play issues asked for in the 'Help' room.
- Avoid spamming the market place chat room. Most users leave a ten minute interval between each advertisement of available players.
- Do not abuse other users or use profanities in chat. Offensive behaviour will be punished.
- Keep in mind the fact that, when in chat rooms, your comments will be read by users of a wide range of backgrounds and ages. Think before you type.
- Equally, to ensure you are understood by all, try not to over use text speak, other than common-place acronyms.
